Welcome to 5th Grade at River Oaks Elementary!

   We have an exciting year in 5th grade ahead including hopefully at least 3 field trips, 3 read alouds, 2 student projects and much more exciting events. I hope everyone is looking forward to a great year as I am. Thank you for bringing in the supplies and turning in the paperwork as soon as you can to help get settled. The website will be a place for posting homework, newslettera and sharing other important information. Be sure to connect with the class on Remind as well as our Instagram page to see what we are learning in the classroom as well. Dear Fabulous Fifth Grade Parents,

I hope you enjoyed the summer, and are looking forward to the start of school. I am so excited to have your child in my class, and I have been anxiously waiting for them to arrive! I believe that you are a very important part of your child’s education, and I look forward to working with you to make 5th grade a successful year for your learner! I have enclosed a questionnaire for you to fill out about your child. These questions will help you share insights about your 5th grader with me so that I can meet their unique needs. I also invite you to take part in our classroom activities throughout the school year. Here are some ways you can join us:

• Coming to special events or performances
• Helping on field trips
• Tutoring students during the day
• Making special presentations that tie in with our studies
• Showing us your craft or work

Reading with your child daily, asking about school activities,  and encouraging your child to always do his/her best are powerful ways to enhance success. Thank you for everything you do at home to support us at school. This is going to be a wonderful year full of rich classroom experiences!
